Artificial Grass FAQs

Common questions around Artificial Grass
Artificial grass can be installed in many areas such as front and rear gardens, balconies, around swimming pools and also playgrounds Any golf facilities ie crazy golf, golf courses, golf simulators can also be catered for with our specialist range. When installing artificial grass it is vital to ensure the ground is prepared correctly before installation.
Cleaning your grass can be done with just a simple rinse with water. However we do recommend using specialist grass chemical cleaners that can be found in the accessories range.
All of our grasses have porous backing and will drain sufficiently provided the area beneath has good drainage.
Of course! One of our team will come to the premises for a full survey. During the survey we will do a full measure up of the area and make inspections to ensure to job can be completed correctly and safely. This is also the time for us to run through the installation process and answer any questions you may have. During this time samples are also handed out free of charge for you to take a look at and evaluate.
Every grass we sell is safe for children to play on. If you have children we just recommend choosing the grass with the highest softness rating so its more comfortable for the child when they are on it playing. For extra comfort for an area for children we would recommend installing 188mm shock pad underlay underneath the grass before installation for extra comfort and cushioning.
All our grasses are pet safe and friendly. We do offer a dog range of grass which has a specialist backing to reduce odour and increase drainage. We also supply a dog grass shampoo which cleans, removes odour and also kills bacteria that is on the grass.
There isn't much when it comes to maintenance of your grass. We simply recommend a simply brush now and again to remove debris such as leaves and seeds from the grass. This helps keep the natural grass and ensures the grass pile stays in fine form. If you find the grass smelling or is in need of a good wash then head over to our accessories page when you can find all the perfect cleaners and detergents for maintaining your lawn.
Before installation we recommend installing the geo-textile membrane to protect against weeds. This should prevent weeds growing through the grass but ensure that if they do grow it could be a sign to brush the grass more regularly to keep the seeds away.
With the majority of fake grass products you should always consider which way you want to lay the grass when received. The artificial lawn will look slightly lighter from one direction and darker from another, so it’s important to decide which way your lawn will face before it is fitted. When you receive your artificial grass it’s always best to roll it out slightly in all directions to see which you prefer. Different rolls of Artificial Grass can differ slightly in colour variation. If you are ordering two or more pieces of Artificial Grass that will be joined together please inform us upon placing your order so we can make every effort to ensure cuts are taken from the same roll where possible. (This is not a guaranteed service and we cannot be held responsible for slight colour variation which occurs as a result of cuts being taken from different rolls.) We do advise you to order the same widths for all pieces in this situation as this will limit the colour variation. Be sure when placing & joining two or more pieces together, that the pile direction runs in the same direction. Always check before fully fitting two pieces together by taking a step back and checking the pile runs in the same direction. Never try to fit your grass at different angles as this will highlight the join and may cause colour variation between the pieces.
